The essentials
What can the tracker record?
Trial-by-trial results, frequency with a rate per minute, and duration across episodes.
- Trial-by-trial: tap correct, incorrect or prompted for each target. Add and rename as many targets as you need.
- Frequency: tap +1 for each occurrence. The first tap starts the timer, and a rate per minute appears after a minute.
- Duration: start and end each episode to get the count, total time and average length.
- Undo: the last trial tap can be undone if you press the wrong button.

Three kinds of data, all in one session.
How is accuracy worked out?
Correct trials divided by all trials. Prompted trials count in the total but not as correct.

Accuracy is correct trials divided by all trials for that target, including prompted ones, so the percentage shows how often the person responded correctly without help.
A fictional child, T., has 10 trials on a naming target: 6 correct, 2 incorrect and 2 prompted. The tracker shows 60%. Report all three numbers, because 60% with 2 prompted is a different picture from 60% with 4 incorrect.
How should you report prompted trials?
Add the prompt type to your note, such as "2 prompted with a verbal model".

The tracker records that a prompt was given; your note should say which kind, such as "2 with partial physical guidance". If your service tracks prompt levels in detail, use the prompt-level data sheet for that target and the tracker for the rest.
Frequency, rate and duration
Turn counts into a rate to compare sessions. Use duration for how long something lasts.

Frequency becomes comparable across sessions of different lengths when you turn it into a rate: 9 occurrences in 30 minutes is 0.3 per minute. Start the timer at the beginning of the observation, before the first occurrence.
Duration covers how long something lasts, such as crying, time seated or time on a task. The tracker keeps each episode, so you can report the count, total and average.
From tracker to session note
Copy the summary, paste it into the objective section of your note, and add prompt types.

Select Copy summary at the end of the session. It lists each target's counts and percentage, then frequency with rate and duration totals. Paste it into the objective section of a SOAP or session note in the report writer, then add prompt types and anything the numbers miss. Print data sheet gives a paper copy.
Is the session data private?
Yes. Counts stay in your browser and clear when you leave, so copy them first.

Counts are not sent to healhab. They clear when you leave or refresh the page, so copy or print the summary first. Name targets by the skill, not the child.
About the session data tracker
The session data tracker is a free therapy data collection tool for your phone or laptop. Tap correct, incorrect or prompted for each target to see live accuracy, tally occurrences with a running rate per minute, and time episodes for duration. Copy the summary into your session note. Counts stay on the page and clear when you leave.

Collecting data while running a session is hard. Your hands are full and the child is moving. The tracker puts large buttons on a phone screen, so one tap records a trial and the totals add up for you.
It suits ABA programmes, speech targets, OT task practice and any session where you count trials, occurrences or time.
Questions
Is this a free ABA data collection app?
It is a free browser tool, so there is nothing to install. It covers trial-by-trial, frequency and duration data, the most common measures in ABA sessions.
Does the tracker save data between sessions?
No. Data clears when you leave the page. Copy the summary into your note or print it before closing.
Can I track more than one target?
Yes. Add as many targets as you need and rename each one. Each target has its own counts and accuracy.
Why are prompted trials not counted as correct?
So the percentage reflects independent responses. Reporting prompted trials separately shows how much support the person still needs.
Can I use it for interval recording or ABC data?
Not at present. Use the printable interval and ABC data sheets for those methods.
Can I use the tracker for speech therapy targets?
Yes. Name each target, for example a sound in initial position or a set of action words, and tap each attempt. Note the cue type in your session note.
